As part of our safety program, students undertake a Bike Education Course, both within school grounds and out on the road. The course teaches riding skills and gives the children an appreciation of road awareness. At the end of the course, each child undergoes an on-road test. Students are encouraged to ride their bike to and from school to promote fitness and riding skills.
Bike Ed- Peddling Mania
The Bike Education Program at Rangeview is a unit designed to increase students’ confidence and skills when riding a bike, as well as awareness of the rules when riding a bike on footpaths and roads. Students participate in a range of theory and practical sessions involving simulated road situations and bike riding skills. The teachers have conducted the necessary safety checks on their bikes and conduct sessions over 6 weeks.
At the conclusion of this program, all Level 6 students will be participating in a bike ride. This is a wonderful experience for them to apply their skills, knowledge and confidence of riding a bike and bike safety.
